Penny

Penny came to us in the middle of the night, brought by local turkish police. She had gotten hit by a car and the police didn't know what to do with her other than bringing her to the sanctuary. Even back then, with a hip broken in several places, she was wagging her tail at us, happy to finally be surrounded by people taking care of her. Penny is very much a people oriented dog who enjoys cuddles from everyone as soon as she meets them, making all our volunteers fall in love with her.

Since Penny is basically still a puppy, about 1.5 years old, she loves playing with other dogs as well as entertaining herself with whatever toys she can find. However, she can become a bit unpredictable when living with other dogs so ideally Penny would make the perfect only dog (with lots of playtime with other dogs of course! Her issues seem to only arise when she is forced to live with other dogs, especially female ones. Otherwise she is really good at meeting new dogs and reading their body language and acting accordingly, whether it's playing with curious ones or staying calm around nervous dogs.)

Even though she is happy enough at the sanctuary, our lovely little Penny is looking for her forever home. While she can be a bit naughty at times (as all teenagers are) – earning her the nickname “Pennywitch” – she is one of those dogs who sneaks into your heart and steals it. Penny is very friendly and open to new people, making her the perfect dog to take into an office or similar setup. While she does enjoy attention from her humans, Penny is also quite resourceful when it comes to finding toys or other ways of keeping herself busy.
